She was of Irish, French, English and Choctaw Native American ancestry. Her older sister, Diane Fawcett Walls (1938–2001), was a graphic artist. Her mother, Pauline Alice Fawcett (née Evans 1914–2005), was a homemaker and her father, James William Fawcett (1917–2010), was an oil field contractor.
